Generator noise is the most expensive sound on a shoot: it costs a re-record or a location. A battery bank runs a two-panel LED setup and the video village with nothing on the boom.
Production units are also useful between takes — charging camera and drone batteries on location instead of driving back to base.

Runtimes are calculated against the first unit recommended below, at 90% inverter efficiency. Real figures move with ambient temperature and how hard the appliance cycles.
Load studio · film and photo shoots
Silent power is the point, so the sizing has to survive two lights, the video village and the DIT without a generator anywhere in the sound field. Scroll call time to wrap.
Everything in the frame is a control. Tap a unit along the top to swap the battery, tap a charge source on the left to add or drop hours of it, tap a load on the right to switch it off, and tap a number at the bottom to change how many days you are out. Amber is the 800w alternator, pale blue the solar panel, blue the output to your loads. DC loads skip the inverter and cost about 10% less than the same appliance on AC.

The EcoFlow gear in this trip
Actual consumption will vary with how you use it. Appliance ratings differ between makes and models, a compressor cycles harder in heat, a fridge that is opened often works more, and battery capacity falls in high ambient temperature. Treat every figure here as a worked estimate for planning, not a guarantee of runtime. A model, not a promise. AC loads carry a 10% inverter loss, DC loads none; solar assumes 62% of panel rating over a Malaysian day; the alternator figure assumes the engine is actually running. Heat, a tired fridge seal and a hard-cycling compressor all move it.

Solar refill
Usable energy is 90% of rated capacity. Solar figures assume the panel earns about 62% of its rating over a Malaysian day - clear morning, cloud after two, no shade on the array.
The arithmetic
A 300W LED panel, a monitor and camera charging is about 450W. A ten-hour day is 4.5kWh — which is one 4096Wh unit plus an extra battery, or two units rotating.
Who buys this
Production houses, commercial stills crews, documentary teams and wedding videographers.
Season and climate
Humidity fogs glass and slows crews; the unit’s fan noise is the one variable you control. Keep it 3m off the mic.
Where people do this
Four things that change the outcome more than the size of the battery does.
01
Sound-safe power
No engine, no exhaust, no re-takes for a generator two streets away.
02
A unit per department
Camera on one, lighting on another. Nobody trips the monitor by plugging in a kettle.
03
UPS mode for monitors
A 10ms handover means the DIT never loses the recording.
04
Spare batteries, not spare capacity
Swapping an extra battery is faster than waiting on a charge between setups.
01
One unit for lighting and video village
A tripped inverter takes the recording with it. Camera and monitors on their own unit, lighting on another, and the DIT never loses a card.
02
The unit inside the sound field
Silent on standby, audible at a metre under load. Three metres off the boom and behind the camera, like any other motor on set.
03
Buying capacity instead of a swap
A ten-hour day is 4.7kWh whatever you buy. An extra battery you can change in thirty seconds beats waiting on a charge between setups.
Why this one, for this
01
Two 300W panels plus the video village is 820W. This carries it without derating.
02
An extra battery swaps in thirty seconds between setups.
03
UPS handover at 10ms means the DIT never loses a card.

Silent under light load. Under heavy draw the fan is audible at a metre — place it outside the sound field, as you would a follow-focus motor.
A DELTA Pro Ultra can. Everything smaller is sized for LED lighting, which is what most productions here now shoot with.
Yes, through GoRental, and we sell to production houses directly. Either way the servicing stays in Malaysia.
Appliances, hours, and whether it has to survive a whole weekend without sun. That is enough to name one model instead of three.
